Karen's Journey

WOO-HOO - The kids are coming home!!

If my mom were here, she'd say "you better start cleaning, because company's coming". They're not compnay - they're our kids!! When I was growing up, we always knew when company was coming because that's when we REALLY cleaned good!

Anyway, Krista and family are coming on August 4th. We'll celebrate Evan's 7th birthday on the 5th and then they'll head to Chicago on the 6th. ---All except Evan, who will be going with papa in papa's "big truck" for a week! How exciting for them both! Ken has a medical conference in Chicago for the week, so Krista and the kids will spend a few days there, then come back to Davenport and hang out with grandma. What fun that will be and what good medicine for grandma! Doesn't get any better than that!!

Then, I got a phone call last night that Kelly, Ron and the kids are coming on Sept. 1 and will be here for a whole week!! We were so disappointed when we had to cancel the kids coming this summer, so we're so excited to see all of them!! Kelly is going to go to a treatment with me, so she'll get to meet everyone and see "how it's done"......There's no better medicine than having family around.

I'm doing o.k. This second treatment hit me a lot harder, so I suppose next week's will be a bit worse. But, now I have so much to look forward too.....We're heading up to Clermont this week-end - Sam's 40th class reunion!! Can you believe that he's that old!!! It will be so good to get out of town, and we'll get to spend some time with his mom too.

Have a good week-end, and stay cool.

Love,
me

    Hi Mom and Dad,
It was good to talk to you this afternoon. Sorry it was a little crazy here but welcome to Team Bentson. Our last two weeks have been like that and we have one more to go.
I am so glad that Kelly and Ron and the kids are able to come to IA for a visit. Everybody will be so glad to see them.
Have a great time at Dad's class reunion and with Steve and D'Lene. It should be a fun time. Gandma will love the parade even thought she won't remember it. the last one we were at was all vehicles and none of the floats like we used to be on for Grandma and Grandpa. No decorated bikes either.
    Talk to you soon.
    Love you,
    Krista

It is so true, family is the best medicine. We are busy preparing for our "Celebration of Life" party for Jaden. We are so excited. We are having live music (we sent dad on a mission to listen to them for us in the cities). We are also getting an inflatable for all the kids to jump in. That has helped us get through our days. Glad you have the count down for the girls and their families to come.

    Love to you, Steph

    Hi Mom & Dad,
It sounds like you had a very busy week-end, but had a great time. I talked to Stacy last-night and she filled me in.
We had a very nice week-end also. We went to the lake and got the twins catching live fish and they had great time. Our friends came over with their girls and we grilled out. There are pictures on my blog.
They are getting very excited about our trip to IA. They can't wait to see both of you. They talk about it almost every day and Evan is doing a count down on the calendar.
    Talk to you soon.
    Love,
    Krista
