Treatment #2 is Done!!!
Yeah! #2 is done, and all is well. I'm very tired, so it's soon off to bed. The Dr. said that I'm doing great, which I was glad to hear. He loved my head!! He also said that I have "thrush" which is common with chemo, so gave me a script for that and also a script for headaches since they are increasing. They had completely gone away before all of this started because I had gone off of the hormones, and now they're back, only worse!
Sam wasn't here for the treatment, and he was a nervous wreck waiting for me to call that I was done! He'll be home early tonight - he turned down a load to Racine, WI - said he needed to be home instead. Have to go in for my shot in the a.m., then I'll be good for another 3 weeks.
Thank you everyone for your cards, your posts here, your emails, your hats, scarves, words of encouragement and prayers. It is so very difficult at times, but then I remember the strong support group that I have out there pulling for me, and that helps.
Love,
me

Hi Mom,
Glad to hear that the treatment went well and the Dr. was happy with your present health. That means that you are staying strong, just like we all knew that you would. Hang in there only 4 more to go!!!
Love you,
Krista
Love you too, Dad!!

Hi Mom, I also am glad to hear that all went well! It is great that the doctor says you are doing GREAT!! That should make you feel good.
It's too bad dad couldn't be there but good that he will be home soon. Hopefully you will have the same reaction this time as you had last time!
I am off to the gym now. (Heather can't walk tonight and I would rather go to the gym.) We are still on for our 13 miles on Saturday though!!
Talk to you later.
I love you!
Luv, Stacy

Karen,
You are 1/3 done...and doing great it seems ! You have such a loving family, I can see that, and there is your strength.
I haven't seen you for years, but you are in my prayers and thoughts very often as you fight this battle. I'm looking forward to seeing you at our class reunion next summer, so plan on it !!
As your family says, your hair doesn't matter....good that the weather is hot ! Often I hear it comes back thicker, or curly, or even a new color sometimes...maybe you'll be a blonde like me :) Whatever your hair does, you are still you, and you are loved.

Hi Karen,
Yeh, I am finally able to get into your blogger sight!! Wow on the head shave. I should have had my nephew come shave it for you. When he shaved Dave's head, he didn't draw blood!!
I am glad on the good report from the doctor yesterday. I hope today is a good day for you and you are just tired from the chemo and not sick. That will be awesome if you do not get real sick. Who doesn't enjoy sleeping. You must put your wig on for us on your next blog. We want to see what you are going to look like when it grows back thick and curly.
I hope we can get over to see you all when Krista, Ken and the kids come down the beginning of August. We can all help get things done that you are unable to do and still enjoy time together. Terra talked to Krista about us all getting together sometime that weekend. We hope this will work for you.
Terra is going to her doctor appointment today. I am anxious to hear what they have to say about how things are going.
Dave works this weekend so I am going to try and strip down a buffet I bought at Good Will. I know, Dave is calling me the "Good Will Queen", but I have really been lucky at finding some neat furniture there. I am still on the hunt for a chest of drawers for Katie and Dustin and for Terra and Tony's twins.
We will probably call this weekend to see how you are doing.
Love, Karen
