An Old Irish Proverb - purchased on something in America

"When you carry faith in your pocket & love in your heart, no mountain is too tall."

Aunt Hazel & Uncle Thomas bought something when they were here from N. Ireland last year that had this saying on it, and how true it is.

I need your prayers this week. It's been an especially tough week. Very emotional, not able to sleep, just don't feel good. It's harder to go to work each day, but it's something that I need to do for me. I'm going to get a massage this afternoon, so that may help. Sam will be home tonight and we have lunch and dinner plans with friends on Saturday, so hope that all goes well and I can get enough rest to go. I guess this is the week that I'm beginning to ask "Why me?" and nobody is answering.

You are in my prayers, Karen. When you are tired, it is easy to get discouraged. Would music help ? Mozart is very relaxing and uplifting. Keep a happiness journal.....find one thing that is good in each day to make you smile.....a flower, a wave from a neighbor, a hug from your husband....and know that your friends are remembering you.

hi mom. I too am sorry that you are having a hard week. Don't question "why me". We have all been telling you that God only gives us what we can handle.
Someone told me once, if you are having a rough time, write down all of the things that truly make you happy. When you are down, pull out that list and read it. I agree with Cynthia 100%! Find something everyday that can make you smile. Doesn't have to be anything spectacular. Remember, even though times are tough, you are still lucky. You have family and friends who love and support you, you and dad have great jobs, a house, a healthy family and six wonderful grandkids!
Dad copy that picture of you and mom and post it all over the house, in the truck and send some to work with mom!
    I love you!
    Luv, Stacy

    Hi Mom & Dad,
Even though this is very tough for all of us right now and it is very hard to look for the good things in your life, that is what you need to do. I have been working on myself very hard to get u p each morning and say this is going to be a good day. I try and make the most of my time with the kids. Evan as challenging as the potty training has been.
God has given all of us so many blessings. Your parents although taken away quickly, were part of your life for over fifty years. That is a wonderful thing. You have three beautiful and healthy daughters. Your grand children! You have so many other friends and family that pray for strength for all of us to make it through this so we can have you and Dad here for over 50 years of our lives.
Post that Irish proverb all over the house so you can ready it over and over so you believe it. The toughest part of this is over. Now the cancer is gone and this treatment is giving you many, many more years to live and enjoy the wonderful things you have been given.
Rest whenever you can and know that we all love you!
    Krista, Ken, & Kids

    Hi Karen,
I am sorry to hear that you have not been having a good week. I am sure you wish that family was closer to you during this time. Remember that when you are feeling down, just call any of us and we promise to make you feel better before you hang up the phone. Remember the poem "Footprints",let God carry you in the palm of his hand during this difficult time. Turn your pain, your sorrow, your fear and your questions over to God. Find comfort in looking at photo albums of your years past. There has to be some good laughs in those albums. I think that it is great that you are trying to continue to work. Enjoy your massage today. You are in so many people's prayers. Please try to stay positive through this journey you are traveling right now, because having a strong, positive attitude can help you through this. We love you, Karen and Dave

    Hi Mom,
I hope that you had a nice time yesterday. When I talked to Dad he said that you had a good time at lunch and were looking forward to dinner in Clinton.
It is truly amazing to see all the support you are getting from you family and friends and all of the new friends that you are meeting. They will be firends for life, a long life:)
It is very hot here. Ken has been working on getting the lines for the fence marked out and I have been keeping cool and cleaning. We went to a pool in St. Peter last night and the kids had a blast. Ken is getting the posts and cncrete to get posts in this week.
Have a good week! We love you.
    Love,
    Krista

    Hi Karen,

Hopefully you had a nice weekend and stayed cool. When you are feeling blue, just think of that (I am sure very ugly) pink braid that we have all heard about. Just tape it on your head and see that things could be a lot worse if you were forced to wear that.

You can always come live with us and then I am sure you would rather be at home where it is quite.

We love you and continue to pray daily.
