5 down/1 to go!!

Hello everyone!
I have 5 chemo treatments down and just one to go!! Yeah!! That sounds just awesome, doesn't it?!? The Dr. was right - they are getting more difficult, but just one more, so I can deal with that. Then I'll have 4 weeks off and then 6 weeks of radiation. I should be all done with all of this by Christmas. What a Christmas present.....Awesome...I had a follow-up appointment with the surgeon last week, and he said that everything looked just fine, so that's a relief and also great news.
Kelly, Ron and the kids headed home this afternoon. They were here for a week. We had such a nice time with all of them, but were ready for them to head home! Don't envy them the drive at all - 22 hours, straight through. They left this afternoon, so they could hit Atlanta in the middle of the night. Good idea. Driving straight through is tough - something for the younger people! Kelly & Christy went with me yesterday to the hospital and had lots of questions, so that was good for them.
We don't have anything planned for the rest of the week-end - just to hang out here at home. I'll probably sleep a lot, which is normal after a treatment, and Sam will mow lawn. Pretty boring, aren't we?!
Have a good week-end, everyone, and thanks again for your support, your prayers and your encouragement.

Karen

Hi! Glad to hear that #5 went well. It will be nice when it is finally over. Hopefully you will start to feel better on your four weeks off!
I'm sure that you and dad need a weekend off after a week of company. Sounds like it is going to be nice and cool.
Heather and I walked about 5 miles last night and plan on walking further tomorrow. I can't beleive at this time next week we will have 20 miles down and will be starting the second 20! Bentson's plan on coming to the finish on Sunday and I think Uncle Kurt and Mattie are going to try and join them. Heather said the closing ceremony is just awesome when you see everyone with MS cross the finish line! I can't wait to cross it.
I better finish getting ready before Krista gets here to go to Terra's shower.
Have a good weekend and I will talk to you soon.
    I love you!
    Luv, Stacy
