Hello Everyone,
It's the middle of August already - where did the summer go! We've had a busy week at our house - Krista, Ken and the kids were in and out this week. We had such a good time with them all, and loved having the kids around. They're constantly on the move - they wore me out just watching them!! Abbie and Drew like to cuddle, and we feel that we really got to bond with them. And Owen, well, he doesn't take much off of anyone! Talk about on the go!! What a cutie!
Evan was with papa in his truck all week, and they had a great time! Evan had work shirts just like papa's, he got to "thump the tires", "crank the dollies" and had his own pair of leather gloves to wear while doing all of this work. Papa marked in his road atlas all the places that they went and gave it to Evan, so Evan was pretty excited about that. Now he can share that with his other grandma & grandpa's. They had a great time. Krista & Ken headed for Eagle Ridge Saturday morning to spend the afternoon with grandma Roberts, then on home from there.
Saturday night, Sam and I drove out to a local camp ground and met up with some friends from Phoenix. We hadn't seen them for several years, so had a good visit. They're headed for North Carolina, then back to Phoenix - quite a trip.
As for me, I'm doing o.k. Very tired all the time, but that's to be expected, I guess. Just keep plugging away - some days are easier than others. Treatment #4 is Thursday, so we're on the downhill slide!! Each treatment gets a bit harder, so I'm glad they're aren't many more!! Everyone has been so good to me/us - we'll never be able to thank all of you, but we do appreciate everything that everyone has done. It means so much to both of us.
Love,
me

Hi Karen,
I've been thinking of you, knowing that even though you are now on the 'downhill' side of treatment, that it would probably be harder as your body has taken an onslaught for several weeks now. But hang in there....you are on the road to survival, and good health for a long life, being able to enjoy your wonderful family.
Now is the time to pamper yourself....do whatever you enjoy, or whatever makes you feel good. Maybe a bubble bath, or a candlelight dinner, or a soft blanket and a good book. Each day is progress toward the goal, so don't be discouraged.
I had my 10 yr old granddaughter Sadie with me all last week, so I can relate to your joy in your family's visit. Sadie and I had fun and the time went all too fast....it makes me cry to say goodbye, knowing she won't be back to visit for a year. She is such a special little girl.
Know that I'm thinking of you.....

Even if I don't check your blog everyday or post a comment all the time please remember that you are in my prayers everyday. I am sure I can speak for many when I say this.
Keep strong tough woman!

Good Morning,
I was glad to hear last-night that the treatment was over and only two to go!! YEAH!! The extra fluids you are getiing should help you feel better as should the decrease in your work. It is great that you are almost half done with this and just the radiation to go. It will be great to have it all done.
the kids are very slow moving this AM and hanging out on the couch and chair with their blankets. It is almost 9 and Owen is still asleep.
Have a nice quiet week-end!
Love,
Krista

Only 2 left is so great to hear. I know 2 may seem like a life time of treatments but you are so close. Stay strong like you are and get the needed rest.
I hope you and Sam have a great weekend.
The Gonzalez family loves ya...
