Home from Arizona

We're back from Arizona, and from the pictures in the post below, you can see that we had a great time! Thank you, Kurt & Mattie, for everything!! We saw so many family & friends and for the most part, the weather was great. Our luggage didn't make it back the same night we did, but was here the next morning. My welcome back to work gift was a pink slip - - I got laid off!! I wasn't totally surprised, as they've lost a lot of business and the census is really low. So, I'll stay home for a bit and see what show up. They were very good to me through my illness, so I can't complain there at all. Something will turn up.....So, I guess I'll clean closets, the basement, etc - stuff I just haven't had the time or energy to do. I can still do it & take my time.

We had quite a storm yesterday, but not as bad as north of us. We were supposed to go to Elgin for Sam's mom's 85th birthday. We had a party planned - had family coming, etc. But, ice/sleet/snow prevented everyone from leaving home. So, we postponed the party 2 weeks. We ended up in Davenport with @ 3/4" of ice and a couple inches of snow. It pretty much shut things down for the week-end. Sam even stayed home today. He had no business being out on the road in this weather.

All for now - stay warm & be safe!

Karen

    Hello to you both,

I had tried posting the other day and was having some issues. So I am back but not with the words of wisdom I had been inspired to write before. So you will just have to pretend that these words are wonderful.

God knew you needed to clean out your closets so he decided to give you that break from outside work. He is so nice and thoughtful isn't he!? I am working on cleaning out my closets here as well. I have done the playroom/toy closet and one storage closet. I have a lot left. I will work on it more next week.

Glad you are home and safe from Arizona and glad you could go there for a visit.

Big hugs to you all. Or as they say in our "heart" world, heart hugs to you...

I hope things are going well with you guys. We think of you all the time and I know Sal enjoys talking to Sam on a regular basis.

When you are ready to venture up in this area let us know. Maybe we could all go to the cabin and just relax.

    Love to you, Steph
