Home from Arizona

We're back from Arizona, and from the pictures in the post below, you can see that we had a great time! Thank you, Kurt & Mattie, for everything!! We saw so many family & friends and for the most part, the weather was great. Our luggage didn't make it back the same night we did, but was here the next morning. My welcome back to work gift was a pink slip - - I got laid off!! I wasn't totally surprised, as they've lost a lot of business and the census is really low. So, I'll stay home for a bit and see what show up. They were very good to me through my illness, so I can't complain there at all. Something will turn up.....So, I guess I'll clean closets, the basement, etc - stuff I just haven't had the time or energy to do. I can still do it & take my time.

We had quite a storm yesterday, but not as bad as north of us. We were supposed to go to Elgin for Sam's mom's 85th birthday. We had a party planned - had family coming, etc. But, ice/sleet/snow prevented everyone from leaving home. So, we postponed the party 2 weeks. We ended up in Davenport with @ 3/4" of ice and a couple inches of snow. It pretty much shut things down for the week-end. Sam even stayed home today. He had no business being out on the road in this weather.

All for now - stay warm & be safe!

Fun in Arizona!

Good News/Not so good news!

I had 2 Dr. appointments today. First one with the Radiation Oncologist - he said everything was fine. (we already knew that!) I don't have to go back to him for 6 months. Yeah!!! Then, this afternoon, I went to see Dr. Mercer, my oncologist, to get the results of my sleep study test. I failed the test....I already knew that I had failed, but didn't know how badly. He said that out of 8 hours sleep, I am only getting about 10% deep restful sleep! That explains my constant fatigue. I have to go to another Dr. when we get back from AZ and get set up with the C-pap machine and will find out more in depth results. Should be interesting - but if it helps, it will be well worth it!!

We're getting ready to leave early Friday a.m. We're anxious to get to AZ. Even if it is coold there, it's better than being here. It was -4 this a.m. with cold again for tomorrow and 4" of snow. Yippee. Guess I'll get some shovel time this week!

Sam's birthday was Saturday. We met Roger & Cyndie for breakfast, the girls and all the grandkids called with birthday wishes and Iowa won, so he had a good day! When we get back from AZ, we'll be celebrating his mom's 85th birthday!

All for now! Stay warm!
